TERMS OF USE

My Campus Got Talent

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using mycampusgottalent.com (“the Website”), registering as a contestant, purchasing votes, or otherwise engaging with My Campus Got Talent (“MCGT”, “we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our platform.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility

To register as a contestant, you must:

  • Be a full-time student currently enrolled at an accredited Nigerian university, polytechnic, or college of education
  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement

MCGT reserves the right to verify your eligibility at any stage and to disqualify any contestant found to have provided false information.

Members of the public may use the website to vote, browse contestant profiles, and access content without being enrolled students.

3. Accounts

To register as a contestant or purchase votes, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use at hello@mycampusgottalent.com

MCGT reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Registration & Form Purchase

Contestant registration requires the purchase of a registration form at the price stated on the platform at the time of purchase. Registration fees are non-refundable except as stated in our Refund Policy.

By submitting your registration form, you confirm that:

  • All information provided is accurate, current, and complete
  • The audition video submitted is your own original performance
  • You own or have permission to use any music, choreography, or other content featured in your submission
  • You consent to MCGT using your profile, photo, and video content for promotional purposes across its website and social media channels

5. Voting

General voting rules:

  • Votes may be purchased by any member of the public aged 16 and above
  • There is no limit to the number of votes a person may purchase for a contestant
  • Votes are non-transferable and cannot be moved between contestants after purchase
  • All votes are final once payment is confirmed

Prohibited voting activity:

  • Use of bots, automated scripts, or any technological tools to generate artificial votes
  • Coordinated bulk voting through fraudulent payment methods
  • Creating multiple accounts to manipulate vote counts
  • Any other activity intended to unfairly influence the outcome of the competition

MCGT monitors voting activity continuously. We reserve the right to investigate suspicious activity, deduct fraudulent votes, disqualify contestants whose supporters engage in prohibited voting, and take legal action where appropriate. Our decisions on voting disputes are final.

6. Content & Intellectual Property

Your content: By submitting photos, videos, biographies, or any other content to MCGT, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, and display that content across our website, social media channels, and promotional materials for the purposes of running and promoting the competition.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all content you submit, and that your content does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.

Our content: All content on mycampusgottalent.com — including the MCGT name, logo, branding, website design, text, graphics, and competition format — is the exclusive property of My Campus Got Talent and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without our prior written permission.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information at any point
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or defame any contestant, judge, or member of the MCGT team
  • Upload or share content that is obscene, offensive, discriminatory, or unlawful
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or interfere with the website or its systems
  • Use the platform for any commercial purpose without our written consent
  • Violate any applicable Nigerian law or regulation

8. Judging & Results

MCGT competitions are determined by a combination of public voting and judges’ scores, as outlined in the competition rules for each season. MCGT reserves the right to:

  • Disqualify any contestant for violation of these Terms or the competition rules
  • Adjust vote counts where fraudulent activity has been detected
  • Amend the competition format, schedule, or prizes at any time with reasonable notice
  • Make final decisions on all competition matters, which are binding and non-appealable

9. Prizes

Prize details are announced at the start of each competition season. Prizes are awarded to verified winners only. MCGT reserves the right to withhold or recover prizes where a winner is found to have violated these Terms or the competition rules. Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash alternative unless otherwise stated.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The MCGT platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the website.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MCGT shall not be liable for:

  • Any loss of data, votes, or revenue arising from technical failures
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform
  • Actions taken by third-party payment processors
  • Content submitted by contestants or users

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold MCGT, its team members, partners, and sponsors harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or costs (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your submission of content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
